About the Course
Skills Gap Strategy Day
Build a sustainable plan to tackle your talent challenges before they hit your bottom line.
By 2030, 1 in 3 workers is set to leave the workforce through retirement in some sectors. That’s not a distant future problem, it’s happening now. Businesses across the UK are already feeling the pressure, scrambling to plug skills gaps with apprenticeships and new hires that simply can’t replace 20+ years of experience overnight.
This Skills Gap Strategy Day is designed to help HR leaders, Managing Directors and other senior decision-makers get ahead of the crisis. We will teach you how to build a clear, data-led, and realistic plan to future-proof your workforce.
Why this matters for your business, now
You can’t afford to wait. Most organisations are already sitting on workforce data that could unlock real insight, but aren’t using it effectively. Too many strategies are based on gut feel, anecdote, or panic reactions to vacancies.
This day gives you the structure, space, and support to:
Make sense of your real workforce constraints.
Identify untapped levers already inside your business.
Develop a skills strategy tailored to your organisation, not a generic model.
Build a confident plan to retain, retrain, and attract the talent you need.
Why learn from us?
In 2019, our founder Chloe began working with a large West Yorkshire employer who faced the looming retirement of 40% of their workforce within five years.
Apprenticeships weren’t keeping up, and the knowledge drain was real.
We built a plan with their soon-to-retire employees, extending their time in the business on their terms and designing mentoring programmes that bridged the gap between the oldest and youngest team members. But the real magic? It sparked inspiration across the whole workforce.
People in their 30s and 40s, many of whom thought they were “too old” to upskill or shift roles stepped forward. We tackled their worries about time, cost, and confidence, and helped them reshape their careers from within.
The result? Not just a solved skills problem, but a transformation; turnover grew 380% during the same period.
Chloe recently shared this story at the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce Leadership Conference, and the response was overwhelming.
What you will learn
During this full-day session, we’ll work through a proven five-step model:
Identify your business category to define how skills shortages are really affecting you. We aren't talking about SME, privately owned, third sector. We work with 6 unique business categories that once you understand, allow you to unlock never before seen potential.
Uncover your unique constraints and levers so you can stop guessing, and start focusing.
Leverage the data you already have no fancy or expensive platforms needed. We will teach you how to safeguard your bank balance by looking at the most basic of data.
Create a bespoke action plan which is specific to your workforce, and your goals.
Define success metrics so you know exactly how to track your impact when you leave the workshop.
What you will walk away with
A practical, prioritised plan to tackle your organisation’s skills gaps.
A better understanding of how to use your own workforce data.
Tools to retain and develop the talent you already have.
Clarity on what success looks like and how to measure it.
Renewed confidence to act, not just react in the face of workforce change.
How this course is delivered
This day can be delivered in two ways:
As a tailored internal session for your leadership and HR teams.
As a scheduled external course, where individual leaders and HR professionals can join peers from other organisations to collaborate and learn.

Your Instructor
Chloe Wallace

With a career rooted in commercially focused HR, I’ve spent years working predominantly in male-dominated sectors, where skills shortages often hit the hardest. Through this, I’ve developed a unique, results-driven methodology for identifying and addressing skills gaps that goes far beyond generic workforce planning.
I specialise in harnessing data and real-world insights to create bespoke, actionable strategies that have helped organisations not only survive, but thrive even in the face of significant risk. In fact, several of the businesses I’ve supported were on the brink of collapse before implementing the very approaches I now share through these sessions.
Now, I’m passionate about bringing that same impact to forward-thinking organisations across Yorkshire and beyond, equipping them to plan smarter, grow stronger, and build the skilled, sustainable workforces they need for the future.
